University City Charlotte NC a great place to live

If you're looking for a neighborhood in Charlotte with access to uptown Charlotte and surrounding areas, the real estate around the University of North Carolina at Charlotte should be on your list. It is close to Charlotte Suburbs like Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Concord, and Lake Norman. UNCC breathes youth and vibrancy into North East Charlotte, but that's not all. The University plays host to sporting events and cultural events. The UNCC 49ers men's basketball team has made it to the NCAA tournament in years past.

The UNCC area offers something for people with an active lifestyle, with access to their athletic facilities and membership available to the student gyms, UNCC is like a small city in itself.

Charlotte is home to Carolinas Medical Center the flagship of the Carolinas Healthcare System. It is a public, non-profit hospital with 874 beds in Charlotte NC, which includes a level 1 trauma center and numerous specialties. It is listed as a leader in urology in US News and World Report.

The children's hospital is the largest from Washington D.C. all the way to Atlanta, Georgia. Carolinas Healthcare Sysyem owns many of the physicians practices in the are as well. It owns several other large hospitals in the area including CMC Northeast in Concord and CMC Pineville in Pineville. Charlotte and its suburbs benefit from a wealth of healthcare options in the area.

SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, NC

SouthPark Mall is one of the most upscale shopping destinations in the Charlotte, NC region. Sharing its name with the SouthPark neighborhood, SouthPark mall has transformed itself from a mall on the outskirts of Charlotte at the time it was built to an upscale shoppers paradise with big name stores like Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Tiffany & Co. The mall has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years as Nieman Marcus and Nordstrom added department stores onto the property. The area is home to office buildings and other upscale strip malls like the shops at Morocroft, which include a Borders Books, and the Harris Teeter's flagship store.

Schools in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte, NC is home to some of the top high schools in the nation according to Newsweek. Myers Park, East Mecklenburg, South Mecklenburg, Providence, Harding, Northwest School of the Arts, and Olympic High Schools all made the list of the top 1,300 high schools in the nation. Newsweek ranks high schools based on the number of students who take Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or Cambridge tests compared with the entire school's poplulation. All three of those programs are advanced classes aimed at students who are preparing for college. Charlotte's education system, like many other areas faces challenges, but there are few areas with this type of representation on this prestigious list.

Myers Park neighborhood in Charlotte NC

Myers Park country club is one of the most exclusive clubs in Charlotte. Guests must be accompanied by a member to play the course. Located in the beautiful Myers Park neighborhood, the club is a historic part of Charlotte, NC as one of the area's premier golf courses. The course was designed by Donald Ross, who also designed Pinehurst No. 2. Myers Park is home to Myers Park High School, a public school that has been featured in Newsweek's top High Schools in the nation.

Dilworth neighborhood in Charlotte NC real estate

Dilworth is a happening, close-in suburban style neighborhood in Charlotte, NC. Named for its developer, Edward Dilworth Latta, the neighborhood was originally created as a streetcar suburb, but as the streetcar gave way to the motor car, but Dilworth remained a popular destination. East Boulevard is the major street that runs through Dilworth and connects the neighborhood with the major north/south roads Park Road and South Boulevard and its neighbor neighborhoods, Myers Park and Segefield. Dilworth is still vital, with investment happening along East Boulevard like the relatively new apartment homes at the intersection with Kenilworth.

Although it's not as close or as well aged as Myers Park, the novelty of the neighborhood brings something different to the table. Ballantyne commons parkway is home to two major shopping developments, Stonecrest and Ballantyne Commons, serve the residents and continue to fuel investment in the area. The neighborhood is easily accessable from both surface streets and highways and has several options to get residents downtown for the morning commute. Providence Road, Park Road and I-485 make Ballantyne well connected to the rest of the city and an excellent option when looking to invest in North Carolina real estate.

Pineville NC Real Estate

Pineville, NC has retained its own character as Charlotte has grown around it. Pineville is home to a successful mall called Carolina Place which drew traffic and investment to the town. But right down highway 51, the historic downtown Pineville waits for people looking for a slower pace. With little shops in old rustic buildings, Main Street in Pineville is a quaint journey into the country without having to drive hours outside of Charlotte. Parking is free downtown and there are parks within walking distance.
